Zimbabwe's prediction market
ZimSignal is a Zimbabwean prediction market where people trade real money on the outcome of local events — weather, the economy, major sport and social media — using a parimutuel pool model, funded with EcoCash, Paynow and InnBucks.
What ZimSignal is
ZimSignal is a centralised prediction market operator based in and serving Zimbabwe. People use it to trade real money on the outcome of future events, and to read the crowd's view of how likely those outcomes are. It is not a cryptocurrency service and not a bank; account balances are held in USD. ZimSignal is for adults aged 18 and over only.
How it works
Each market is a YES or NO question about a real future event. ZimSignal markets are parimutuel: everyone backing the same outcome pays into a shared pool, and there are no fixed odds. The percentage shown on a market is simply each pool's current share of the total, and it moves as people trade.
When a market resolves, the losing pool is shared among everyone who backed the winning outcome, in proportion to their stake. A 2% fee applies to winnings only; there is no fee on losing or refunded positions. Positions are held until the market resolves, so there is no early sell or cash out.
What you can predict
Markets cover Zimbabwean weather, the economy, major sport including the Premier Soccer League, social media moments, and other current local topics. New markets are added regularly and each one states exactly how and when it will be resolved.
Payments, fees and limits
Deposits and withdrawals run through EcoCash and InnBucks via Paynow Zimbabwe. The minimum trade is $0.50 and the maximum single trade is $500.00, with a maximum exposure of $1,000.00 per market. Withdrawals have a $5.00 minimum and a flat $1.00 fee, and are capped at $1,000.00 per rolling 24 hour period. Resolved markets open a 6 hour dispute window before any payouts are released. See the full fees and limits for details.
